William T. Obeid – President & CEO

As the President and CEO of Gemini Real Estate Advisors, LLC, Mr. Obeid has overseen all aspects of Gemini’s activities since its inception in 2003. Under Mr. Obeid’s leadership and direction, Gemini has built a portfolio of real estate that includes four million square feet and eight hotel properties. Prior to Gemini, Mr. Obeid was the Director of Finance for Brookline Development Company. Prior to Brookline, Mr. Obeid arranged private financings and worked at the investment banking and private equity firm Needham & Co. Prior to Needham, he worked for a family office where he completed several acquisition and investment assignments for the group’s real estate division throughout Southeast Asia, Europe and Africa. Mr. Obeid has also worked in corporate finance at Smith Barney where he participated in over $1 billion of securities offerings to institutional and retail investors. Mr. Obeid began his career at The Blackstone Group, an advisory and private equity firm in New York City. Mr. Obeid graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan.

Ritesh Jariwala, CHA, Vice President – Operations & Asset Management

Ritesh Jariwala is responsible for Gemini’s day-to-day hotel operations.  He brings years of experience in hotel operations, sales and marketing, maintenance and development.  His experience includes managing hotels with a variety of franchise affiliations, including Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn and other limited service hotel chains.  He also has experience managing banquet halls, apartment complexes and condominium buildings. 

Mr. Jariwala’s prior experience includes the development and redevelopment of a number of hotels.  Mr. Jariwala received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Hospitality Business. He is also a Certified Hotel Administrator.

Scott J. Gericke, CHA, Vice President - Operations

Scott Gericke brings more than 20 years of management experience in both full service and select service properties.  He has extensive experience with hotel operations, sales and marketing, property repositioning, profitability strategies, procurement, new property openings, renovations and conversions.  Mr. Gericke oversees the day-to-day operations of all hotel assets. 

Prior to joining Gemini, Mr. Gericke was Vice President of Hotel Operations for Stonebridge Companies for nearly ten years.  At Stonebridge, he oversaw the operations of over fifteen properties with various franchise affiliations including Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites by Hilton, DoubleTree Hotel, Residence Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Wyndham, Radisson, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites and Sleep Inn.  Mr. Gericke’s prior experience includes various management positions with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.  Mr. Gericke is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He is also a Certified Hotel Administrator.

Phil Hospod, Vice President - Acquisitions & Development

Mr. Hospod is responsible for Gemini’s hotel acquisition and development projects, performing due diligence, and managing the execution of each transaction. Mr. Hospod has been involved in the structuring and acquisition of two retail centers and eight hotel assets and placing $300 million of tiered debt and equity capital. Prior to joining Gemini, Mr. Hospod worked with the development division of Intrawest, an owner of ten North American mountain resorts. At Intrawest, Mr. Hospod worked on various hospitality real estate projects, varying from residual land sales and condo-hotel developments, to feasibility studies of new acquisitions. Mr. Hospod holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and graduated with Distinction from the Honors Business Administration program at the Richard Ivey School of Business in Ontario, Canada.

Stephen Cius, Hotel Portfolio Controller

As Controller of Gemini, Mr. Cius brings over 35 years of experience in the hotel industry.  He is responsible for all property level accounting and financial matters of Gemini’s hotel assets.  He also assists in Gemini’s hotel operations and marketing efforts. Previously, Mr. Cius was Vice President of Princess Hotels International and Princess Vacations, and its successor organization, Grand Bahama Vacations for 22 years.  He was directly responsible for Princess’ central reservations office, revenue management, leisure travel sales, sales administration, revenue accounting, budgeting and forecasting.  Mr. Cius was also Regional Controller for Americana Hotels, when it was a subsidiary of American Airlines, supervising the accounting operations at 30 properties in the US, Mexico, Aruba and Korea.

Mr. Cius began his career with Sheraton where he held finance positions at four different properties, including the hotel and casino controller at the Aruba Sheraton. His additional experience includes managing the Ritz Carlton, New York, New York and the Ritz Carlton, Washington D.C.  Mr. Cius is a graduate of Lewis College and received his received Hotel Management Certification from Cornell University.

Faisal Sardar, Director of Revenue Management/Commerce

Faisal Sardar, as the Director of Revenue Management, is responsible for developing and implementing Revenue Maximization strategies across the Gemini portfolio of hotels. Mr. Sardar uses Asset Positioning, Market Segment Management, Yield Management, Channel Development/ Management, and Direct Sales as tools in maximizing the revenues for the Gemini assets. 

Previously, Mr. Sardar was the Director of Revenue Management and Director of Information Technology at Stonebridge Companies, where he created and oversaw the operations of these two departments.  At Stonebridge, he managed a portfolio of over 40 hotels. Mr. Sardar has extensive experience with full, focus, and extended-stay products for the Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, IHG, Choice, Wyndham, as well as independent boutique brands. Mr. Sardar has also been involved in the opening and acquisition of over 20 hotel assets. Mr. Sardar graduated as a computer science major.

Corporate and Group Sales

Andrew Hendricks, Director of Sales

As Director of Sales, Mr. Hendricks brings over 23 years of hotel sales experience in boutique, select service and luxury hotels. He is responsible for the revenue growth of the hotel assets. In his role, Mr. Hendricks oversees client relationships with sales & marketing franchise partners, travel agents, national corporate accounts and international wholesalers.  

Prior to joining Gemini, Mr. Hendricks was Senior Area Sales Manager for New York City & Philadelphia with Hersha Hospitality Management where he worked with independent boutique properties, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties. He began his hospitality career with Ritz Carlton – Naples, FL where he was Director of Catering and Destination Management. Mr. Hendricks is a graduate of University of Miami.
